Maxi: Instructions
Maxi is a dice game for 2 to 6 players. It is played with 2 dice. At the beginning of the game, each player receives a certain number of chips (2 to 4). The last player, who still has one or more chips, is the winner.
To begin the game, the first player rolls the dice and looks at the result, without showing the other player(s). Alternatively, the player may choose not to look at the dice after rolling. The player must then call a dice value of his/her choice. If the player chooses to call the actual value of the dice rolled, the higher number forms the first digit of the total and the lower the second, e.g.: a roll of a 3 and a 5 would result in 53. Doubles are worth more than all totals with the exception of 21 – a ‘Maxi’.
The second player to roll then has the following options:
For the first two options, the player must (after rolling) call a total that is either equal to or greater than the previously called total. This applies even if the actual roll is less in total, therefore forcing the player to lie.
If the player passes on without rolling, he/she must call a value of at least one higher than that called before.
If the player decides to reveal the previous roll, the winner of the round is found. If the revealed value is lower than the call, the caller loses a chip. If the value is as called or higher, the player who reveals loses a chip.
The order of all possible rolls is as follows:
31, 32, 41, 42, 43, 51, 52, 53, 54, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 21
