Whist is a game for four players. The players form two teams of two with the players facing them at the table. The following trick strength of the cards applies: A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Players must follow suit. Three variants of the game are on offer: "Normal" (win at 5 points), "American" (7 points) and "Long" (9 points).
The team that wins the most tricks wins the round. The points the team wins for the victory are calculated by the total of tricks won, minus 6. For example, 8 tricks won - 6 = 2 points.
