66 is a 2-player card game, which was invented in 1652, making it one of the oldest and most popular German card games around. The game is played with 24 cards in four suits (Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs), listed in order of value: Ace, 10, King, Queen, Jack, 9.
At the beginning of the game each player receives 6 cards. The remaining cards form the deck. The bottom card is turned over and placed next to the deck, and this card determines the trump suit. The first card is played by the dealer. The winner of the last trick plays the first card of the next. The game is played over a number of rounds. A round is won as soon as a player reaches 66 points.
The aim of the game is to reduce the counter value (displayed on the pad of paper in the bottom left corner) to 0.
