Pyramids: Instructions
Click the button "New Game" to open a game. You can determine the desired maximum skill level of your opponent. You can of course also join a game already opened by another player.
At the start of the game there are 28 cards in the Pyramid. There are also 24 cards spread out face-down under the base of the Pyramid. One of them faces up. The cards from the lowest row of the Pyramid have to be placed first. This is accomplished by clicking on a card in the Pyramid. If this is a suitable card it will be placed on the face-up card at the bottom. Otherwise it stays in the Pyramid. You can turn over a card by clicking on it. It will be placed on the card which has already been turned over. The Joker is located next to the pile of unturned cards. Click on the Joker to activate it.
Pyramids is played as a duel, whereby:
- Both players start out the same with the same cards.
- Players can play their rounds one after the other.
- After a player has finished a game, s/he can watch the opponent, leave the table, or start a new round.
- It is possible to invite other players, but opening private tables is not allowed.
At the start of the game there are 28 cards in the Pyramid. There are also 24 cards spread out face-down under the base of the Pyramid. One of them faces up. The player now has to place a card from the lowest row of the Pyramid onto the card which faces up. The card from the Pyramid must always be one unit higher or lower than the card which faces up. The suit of a card (Spades, Diamonds, Hearts or Clubs) does not matter, only the value (2, 3, 4, ... 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace). Aces can be both high and low. An Ace can thus be placed on either a King or a 2, and vice versa.
If none of the cards from the Pyramid can be placed, then the player has to turn over one of the cards from the row beneath the Pyramid. S/he has to keep doing this until s/he finds a card on which s/he can place a card from the Pyramid. Or s/he can use the Joker, which can be used to place any card from the Pyramid. The Joker also continues the placing sequence, so that a player gets more points for the cards placed after the Joker than for the cards placed before.
The object of the game is to place all the cards from the Pyramid as quickly as possible in each round. Up to 5 rounds are possible. The player who collects the most points wins.
A player has successfully completed a round once all cards from the Pyramid have been placed onto the pile. The player automatically advances to the next round. If a player is not able to complete a round, the game automatically ends.
A player gets 5 points for every card s/he places. If a player is able to place several cards consecutively, s/he gets 5 additional points for every card, i.e. 5 points for the first, 10 points for the second, etc. 50 points are deducted for using the Joker, and 5 points are deducted for turning over a new card. If a player successfully completes a round, s/he gets 50 points.
